Nicolo Salon if named after its founder Nicolo Desiderio. The company is almost 48 years old. It all began with Nicolo coming to America as a legal immigrant at the age of 20 with 25 cents in his pocket.

He was born and raised in the small town of Orsogna Italy in the region of Abruzzo Italy. His parents Vincenzo and Maria lived above the salon when they decided to move to America.

He is one of 5 Children. Camillo, Rocco, Elizabeth, and Domenico who died of illness after WWII.

Nicolo married Susan Puleo from Malden while attending cosmetology school. Together they purchased the current Nicolo Salon building which was a residential house/business which they converted into a hair salon.

Cristen Tucci possesses a unique talent for nurturing and educating emerging talent within our company. Her love for hairstyling is only fulfilled when she can impart her knowledge to others. Cristen originally hails from Vidal Sassoon before becoming an integral part of the Nicolo Team, where she has dedicated over 19 years of her career. As a leader and manager within our organization, she oversees our rigorous associate program, responsible for training some of Nicolo's top talents.

Cristen brings an invigorating energy to each day she spends with us. Her training has instilled a penchant for thinking creatively, pushing boundaries, and breaking away from daily routines to discover fresh looks and styles. She specializes in Hair Painting, Balayage, and creative color techniques, and her quest for knowledge has taken her across the country, from Las Vegas to New York, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, for specialized training sessions. She has had the privilege of learning from esteemed National Artists such as Sam Villa, Lisa Loves Balayage, Justin Isaac, Ryan Morgan, Lori Zabel, Brent Berenson, Adam Livermore, Lauren Hagen, Paint Box, and Jamie Sea of Salt Society.

Within our company, Cristen's talents extend beyond hairdressing. She delights the team with her skill in baking fresh, authentic sourdough Artisan bread, a true treat for all. In addition to her homemade bread, she generously shares pizza and pasta creations with her colleagues.

When she's not in the kitchen, Cristen enjoys staying active, volunteering her time, and indulging in reading. She's currently developing a program to assist young women entering the workforce in managing debt, a challenge many young people face today.

And if you ever join Cristen for coffee, she'll opt for a double espresso served over ice with a hint of cinnamon and cream, reflecting her unique and vibrant personality.

Marisa joined Nicolo Salon following the completion of an intensive one-year Cosmetology program at Northshore Community College. Since then, she has quickly ascended the ranks as one of our fastest-growing service providers, earning multiple promotions.

Marisa's passion for her craft is exemplified by her pursuit of education and training. She's had the privilege of participating in hands-on classes with renowned celebrity colorist Tracy Cunningham, even traveling to Los Angeles for a weekend class. In June 2019, she furthered her skills by taking an intensive class with Sam Villa and Tracy Cunningham. Marisa's dedication to improving the guest experience led her to complete Redken's Specialist program in Giorgia, which encompassed six full-day courses over two months and sets the stage for her journey to becoming a Redken Certified Haircolorist.

Giovanna began her journey as an associate under Cristen Tucci, immersing herself daily in the hands-on business of hairstyling. In just one year, she's accumulated more advanced education than anyone else on our team, a testament to her dedication to her craft. What's truly remarkable is her unwavering commitment to spending her time off taking advanced training in areas like highlighting and hair painting. Recently, she had the privilege of studying with renowned artist "Lisa Loves Balayage."

Giovanna's impressive schedule includes servicing clients five days a week and attending to hundreds of clients each month. Her high retention rate and referrals are clear indicators of her skill in making people happy and solving their hair-related concerns. All her life she has been in the business of doing hair. It does not matter who because she has passion like no other. Christine has many specialties. For one she can roll a perm better than anyone on the team, and she spent years specializing in elder hair care. Working at the senior center in Lynnfield taking care of some of the most difficult hair types and clients, many with special needs, and in the evening working with our team expanding her creativity and talent.

One of Christine’s greatest gifts is her ability to listen, and certainly her patience.
She is kind, gentle, hardworking, and extremely talented.

Christine is up to date on all the current trends and takes multiple classes throughout the year on various skills. She recently took an advanced course in balyage, blonding, and cutting. Most Recent is her certification in Hand Tied Extensions.

In her spare time she enjoys doing art.

Jillian has been working since she was 16 and has 22 years of customer service and working with the public. She worked in the legal field as a paralegal for 15 years and left that career to join the Nicolo team so she could spend more time with her son. It has been a great fit for her even though she does not have a cosmetology background. Her family values and love for working with the public make her the perfect fit for Nicolo salon.
